Magic stick

March 10, 2010

We can close the books on the case of the missing, gold medal winning, stick and glove.

Gold medal jump

Sidney Crosby’s Olympic equipment has been found and returned.

Apparently the glove ended up in Patrice Bergeron’s bag, and the stick, well, it almost ended up in the International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame in St. Petersburg, Russia. Ovechkin’s way to get back at Crosby and Team Canada for the thumping we gave him and Team Russia in the quarterfinals? Alas, this story isn’t that juicy. Apparently the IIHF just didn’t realize it was the stick Crosby used to score the gold medal winning goal against US goaltenderRyan Miller.

So all’s well that ends well!

I really just wrote this post to watch the golden goal again. Enjoy!
